Now that you and your doctor have decided to use PEGASYS to fight back against hepatitis C, it's important to understand exactly how to inject the medication.
This page will guide you through the process with easy-to-follow, step-by-step directions. However, be sure to watch the self-injection video and read the following information carefully before attempting to give yourself an injection. Remember, if you have any questions, be sure to ask your doctor before you attempt to inject.
At first, it may seem like a lot of things to remember, but injecting PEGASYS should be much easier after you do it a few times.
PEGASYS is available in two types of packages. Depending on your doctor's instructions, your package will include either:
- 4 syringes prefilled with PEGASYS, or
- Vials containing PEGASYS + empty syringes
The medication you will receive when you inject PEGASYS will be the same for either version of the package. However, be sure to read the instructions that apply to your medication package.
Choose the appropriate set of instructions below.
